Service for Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Human Trafficking Survivors in Hong Kong
In collaboration with Branches of Hope and Medical Outreachers of CUHK, the Society of Preventive Dentistry of Hong Kong (SPDHK) organised a dental outreach for refugees, asylum seekers in Hong Kong. The programme was held successfully at the Vine Church, Wan Chai on 14th October, 2023.
Under the supervision of Dr Phoebe Lam, basic oral assessment and body checkup was conducted for approximately 40 refugees, asylum seekers and human trafficking survivors by our dental students. Afterwards, oral health education was provided to teach them the proper techniques in brushing and flossing in order to prevent oral diseases. A health talk on diet was also held to provide information on how to maintain a good oral health.
On behalf of the Society of Preventive Dentistry of Hong Kong (SPDHK), we would like to express our deepest gratitude towards our sponsors, Oral B, Colgate and Sensodyne for their generous and continuous support.
